Scott Hughes has spent a lifetime making music at church, in choirs and
as a music performer and instructor. After receiving his BA in
Liberal Studies and a Minor in Music, Scott was introduced to Music
Together through a mutual friend and musician, and feels very blessed
to be part of such a wonderful program. After four years, Scott
admits that the work is more rewarding each year and has especially
enjoyed what Music Together has brought into his own home -- a
musically rich environment and huge library of fun music the whole
family enjoys singing and making music too (if kitchen instruments and
jumping around count as making music). Scott and his wife Mandy
love that their 13 year old daughter enjoys singing the songs as much
as their 2 year old son, at least when they're singing them together,
and that the 2 year old is beginning to be quite musical thanks to all
the early exposure. Scott has earned the prestigious Certification level 1
qualification from Princeton's Music Together Center For Music and Young
Children and is a Registered Music Together teacher. |

Michelle discovered Music Together by taking classes with her first child at 6 months old where she was inspired to become a registered teacher.
She was thrilled to find an outlet for her lifelong love of music, teaching & children! She has been singing & dancing professionally since childhood. She received her B.F.A degree in Musical Theater from The Boston Conservatory. Some performing highlights include soloist coloratura work with the Rock Opera Company, Vox Lumiere and participating in a production of Jekyll & Hyde with the Bay Area Civic Light Opera. She has also engaged in theatrical works with the Meta Theater Company. In addition to her stage work she enjoyed being a section leader at a church in Pacific Palisades for 5 years. She contributed to various vocal & film recording projects in LA before relocation to the East Bay area.
Her biggest (& most challenging) projects however, are her 2 children, Madelyn (5 yrs.) & Dylan (3yrs.). They both can’t get enough of the Music Together songs & enjoy attending the program. Michelle plays the autoharp & piano in her classes. She finds facilitating the Music Together program to be one of the most rewarding experiences both personally & professionally.
Michelle has earned the prestigious Certification level 1 qualification from Princeton's Music Together Center For Music and Young Children and is a Registered Music Together teacher. |

I have two lovely boys and a wonderful and musically talented husband. I am also a family therapist, a gerontologist and worked at preschools as a teacher. I earned an undergraduate degree in Family Studies and Human Development and graduate degree in Gerontology. I am fluent in both English and Korean. I am also a piano teacher. and have volunteered at local churches for various opportunities including teaching songs to youth and teaching young children from 18 months to 10 years old.
I was raised in a family where music was a very important part of our life. Some of the favorite things to do with my sisters were mimicking ballet moves to Swan Lake and singing around the piano as a family activity. I naturally learned to sing and play instruments at very young age.
I decided to become a Music Together teacher after searching for a good music program with a group setting for my children. I found M.T., loved it myself, and saw leap of progress in my child's musical development. I have tried other programs with my children, however, Music Together stood out in a way that how it guides the adult participants to develop their children's lifetime love of music as well as help children to reach their musical potential.
I love my mom and I also love her as my favorite music teacher, I truly wish one day my children would feel the same about me. MJ is a Registered Music Together teacher.
