We offer individualized music experiences for children and families at a variety of ages and stages. Whether your child is just beginning to explore music or is ready for more focused study on an instrument, our teachers can help create an experience that meets them where they are.
Looking for a group option? For children ages 4–8 who enjoy learning with others, our Rhythm Kids® program is a wonderful primer for more formal instrument study.
Music Exploration Sessions — Ages 4+
For children who are interested in individualized music experiences but are not yet developmentally ready for formal instrument study.
Before age 6 or 7, children generally learn music best through observation, exploration, imitation, and experimentation rather than formal instruction.
These sessions build the musical foundation, confidence, and understanding that will support more structured instrument study later on.
Sessions are tailored to each child's age, interests, abilities, and developmental level.
Music Exploration Sessions may be especially appropriate for children who:
- Are curious about music or a particular instrument
- Benefit from individual attention rather than a group class
- Thrive with a playful, exploratory approach to learning
- Are transitioning from Music Together® or another early childhood music program into more individualized study
Our goal is to help children build a strong musical foundation while developing confidence, curiosity, and a love of making music.
Private Instrument Instruction — Typically Ages 6+
Once a child is ready for more focused study, we also offer private instruction in select instruments. Lessons are individualized to each student's age, developmental level, interests, and experience.
For younger students, instruction may incorporate a combination of musical exploration and beginning instrument skills rather than following a traditional lesson format.
Children who have participated in Music Together, Rhythm Kids®, or other early childhood music experiences often have a wonderful foundation for beginning more focused musical study.
In-Studio Rates
Private instruction and Music Exploration Sessions are available in our San Ramon studio.
Rates start at $60 per 30-minute session and vary based on lesson length and frequency.
Other Lesson Options
Some of our teachers offer home visits or lessons in their own private studios. Rates and availability for these lessons are set independently by the individual teacher.

Informal Family Lessons
